Announcing a Big Award & The Launch of Tenjaku Pure Malt

We are extremely proud to announce that Tenjaku Whisky was recently awarded the Gold Medal in the Japanese Blended Whisky category by Beverage Testing Institute. This award was selected by an impartial panel of industry experts including retailers, restaurateurs, journalists, buyers, bartenders, sommeliers, and Cicerones. By earning a rating of 91 (exceptional), Tenjaku has been deemed 2020’s Best Japanese Blended Whisky according to Beverage Testing Institutes’ annual review. The rating is based on a complex scoring system that considers a wide variety of factors including flavor, aroma, coloring, smoothness, and drinkability (both neat and mixed into cocktails). We want to take a moment to thank everyone at Beverage Testing Institute for this prestigious honor.

We are also absolutely thrilled to announce the recent launch of our newest blended whisky, Tenjaku Pure Malt. This new blend, the brain child of our Master Distiller Kenji Watanabe, uses 100% aged malt whiskies. Once the double copper pot distillation and blending processes are complete, we age Tenjaku Pure Malt in heavily used bourbon barrels for up to six years to allow the flavors the time they need to fully mature. Tenjaku Pure Malt boasts a rich flavor with a slightly nutty taste featuring hints of green apples and herbs. The subtle finish has notes of smoky vanilla and a woody tone. It’s true that variety is the spice of life, and with this in mind, we are excited to provide our loyal fans with yet another way to enjoy the Tenjaku experience.

Our first year of sharing our specific blend of Japanese Whisky with the US has been very rewarding and we look forward to many more incredible years ahead.
